A human adult or animal is one who has grown to its full potential. Adults are social concepts as well as a legal concept in our world. Contrary to the term "minor" or "non-adult" an legal adult refers to a person that has reached the age of an age at which they are majority. They are considered responsible, independent and capable. Sometimes referred to as "majors", they can also be considered to be at the age of adulthood. The general consensus is that the age at which a person can legally become an adult is 18. It is possible for this to differ based on the legal rights and the country of origin and also on the psychological state.

The age of adulthood marks the point that the person is at maturation in both mental and physical development. Commonly, adulthood begins around age 21 or 20. Middle age, commencing approximately 40 years of age then follows by the age of 60 years old. Adulthood is divided into three stages: young adulthood (18-mid-30s), mid-30s-mid-60s, then late adulthood from mid-60s up to death. It is the time to complete physical development when we enter our early adulthood (20-40s) however, the weight and height may be a little higher. As we enter our early twenties, the physical capabilities of our bodies reach their peak. They include strength of muscles and reaction time.
