Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with uppercase letters in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. Half the World Away - by the Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two of the most notable covers the singer has created. Katy Perry posted a video in which she endorsed Runaway. It earned her some attention. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music was discovering a grand piano that was in the attic. She was fascinated by what it could do. The parents of her May-Britt family as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but for growth. She began to write with her own music. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork as her main influences. The singer decided to perform the songs she wrote publicly after her mother suggested that they can help other people, not gain acclaim for her work but to make people see around them realize the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. She began playing the piano when she was six years old and started writing music at age nine. Her family didn't know until the age of fourteen. Aurora's success was never the goal of her. As she says, she just likes to write songs. According to her, she believes music can make anyone feel better.
